Going “Home”

I hope to be visiting Sedalia in the near future. When I say, “Sedalia,” that means Pettis County to me - particularly the southern portion.

I should be bringing back some updated photos of the New Bethel church and cemetery, and some pictures of the Flat Creek area. On my next trip, I hope to get some pictures of the northern part of the county, where the Burfords lived.

I’m also hoping to get into the city. I have many memories of Liberty Park and the public library, of broad porches, bottle trees, of Flowers department store and Tullis Hall ice cream and the sound of trains, both the real trains that passed through and the little train in Liberty Park that took me round and round and round all the years of my childhood.  Many of those things are gone, now, but I would like to see what is left and what is new.
