Mrs. Mary F. Elliott
Dear cousin I wrote to you some two months ago but as yet have received no answer. however I shall try you again these lines leave myself with the rest of the family in the injoyament of very good health and I hope may find you and family well. Sarepta and her little girl are both chilling occasionally with that exception this connection here are all well as far as I know. Sarepta and Ben have beene living with us ever since Ben come home from Missouri until about three weeks ago. they moved hom. We feele quite lonely since as there is but four of us now: father and mother James Madison’s little Son Marshall and I Mother has beene in better health for the last four or five months than she has beene in for a long time until the last few days she has beene very poorely Father’s eyes are not improving much I do not think they will ever get intirely well. he is talking about going to see an eye Doctor or an oculist about forty miles from here I do not know whether he will go or not. Cousin Mary F. have not much news of importance to write you at this time there is none a float there has been a good many weddings in this neighborhood and surrounding county since Christmas - I think there has beene at least 25 or 30 But William is about to disappoint you in your new sister he was talking of taking home with him. he has not found her in Texas I think she is in Missouria. You must let us know a month or two before the wedding comes off and Uncle Wesley and I will go over to the infore. Mary I want you and Amanda to keepe a pretty close watch over Harvey Brown. You can watch him while he is in Pettis and Amanda when he is in Saline and do not let him fall in love with any of the Missouri girls not that I would not like to have some of them for a cousin as well as anyone else. Though if Harvey was to marry out there I expect there would have to be a burrying a way here in Texas his sweetheart looks very sad over the thoughts of his leaving though probably she will be all the happier to see him when he gets back. Mary give my love to Emira Jane and family to Sarah Ann and family also. Tell them I would like very much to see them yet. I have not much idea that I ever will see any of you girls. Some of the boys may come to Texas sometime I hope they may. Mary write just as soon as yo get this and let us know how Will stood the trip home we will be very anxious to heare from him and I do not expect he will think about writing until he goes around to see all of his relatives and friends. Sarepta sends her love to you all she may write before Will starts She is not well today and does not feele disposed to write Ann Catherine sends her love to you all and wishes all of you to write to her I shall close for the present my compliments to your Husband father and mother wishes me to tender their kindest regards to you and family. Mr Anderson and famly and Mr Parish and family with much love I remain your cousin
